During the hot summer months, be sure to take extra care to keep material stored in its original rolled condition and to avoid storage of film in areas of high temperature and high relative humidity. To insure quality, the ideal storage conditions are approximately 70° F (21° C) with a relative humidity of 50%.

Due to the inherent properties of PVC film, customers need to be aware of the effects that expose to heat has on semi-rigid double polished film. In our experience, semi-rigid film changes when exposed to high temperatures and humidity. Some changes that can occur include blocking, lay flat, increased slipness, pockmarks and wrinkles.

With the extreme high temperatures in parts of the United States, we suggest that customers should take extra steps to assure that vinyl materials are rotated on a first-in, first-out basis. Increased dusting during production or changing to a slightly harder hand, depending on usage, may reduce the possibility of problems.
